2023 Mass Timber Research &
Design Innovation Symposium

October 12, 2023

Hosted in tandem with Portland’s Sustainable Building Week, TDI’s 2023 Mass Timber Research and Design Innovation Symposium is an opportunity for architecture, wood science, and engineering faculty from University of Oregon (UO) and Oregon State University (OSU) to delve into mass timber research and related public initiatives. In addition to presentations about the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition and related sustainable forestry and affordable housing work, over twenty mass timber research projects will be reviewed in a high-level, short-duration format. The four major sessions of the day will include

  • Structural & Seismic
  • Fire & Moisture Performance
  • Design, Sustainability, Building Performance, & Human Health
  • Manufacturing & Supply Chains

Who Should Attend?

This event is open to the public. The content is geared towards architects, engineers, construction professionals, manufacturers, code officials, developers, researchers, or other stakeholders interested in mass timber and mass timber research. 

3 AIA Credits are available for attendees.
