Critical Mass Timber: Insights into the Global CLT Industry
In this talk, Dr. Lech Muszynski will explore the global distribution of CLT manufacturing, its capacities and outputs, and intricacies.

For this month’s Critical Mass (Timber) Event, we will hear from Dr. Lech Muszynski, Professor of Wood Science and Engineering at Oregon State University. He will offer a global look at the cross-laminated timber (CLT) and mass timber panel industry.

Mass timber has captured significant attention in recent years, but the global industry is smaller, and more diverse, than it may appear. Looking beyond domestic markets helps put familiar challenges like uneven growth, market maturity, and supply chain complexity into a clear prospective.

Drawing on more than thirty years of global industry development, Dr. Muszynski will explore the distribution of CLT manufacturing worldwide, regional capacities and outputs, and the different ways producers have structured operations, offering insight into where the industry stands today and what’s to come.

Join us for the discussion on Zoom! As always, these events are meant to have group participation and discussion. Come with an attitute ready to learn.
