The new 25-foot tall reaction wall and 60-by-80-foot strong floor at the A.A. “Red” Emmerson Advanced Wood Products Lab will be used for large scale testing of mass timber assemblies and building systems, including three-story systems in Arijit Sinha’s upcoming lateral design research.  

 

Construction at the new headquarters for the College of Forestry at Oregon State University is making great headway. We're particularly excited to see the acetylated alder siding going up. Accetylation of wood is a process by which the wood is made more durable and dimensionally stable through the impregnation of the cell structure with what is in effect...vinegar!
